On January 28th 1974 the Florida West Coast Chapter of A.S.I.S. assumed the obligation of and was chartered as a chapter of the American Society of Industrial Security.

Now known as ASIS International this chapter serves as a local resource for information on various security and management skills by exposing members to all disciplines so they can become key players in the modern business environment.

Our chapter provides the opportunity to network and interact with colleagues and other security practitioners in a local setting. We host monthly educational luncheons focusing on local security issues. We produce a two-day annual security conference at the University of South Florida designed to provide members with the most up to date information concerning the challenges of today's security practitioner.

Members are assisted with job placement by distribution of resumes and notification of job listings.

We provide assistance in obtaining the industries most recognized certifications, Certified Protection Professional, Professional Certified Investigator and Physical Security Professional.
