Chairman's Report
As we embark on our exciting journey through 2012, we do so in the hope that you all experienced a joyous holiday season and that most all your expectations were fulfilled in 2011. Our Florida West
Coast Chapter certainly owes a great debt of gratitude to Past‐Chairman Ken Stewart for the outstanding
leadership he provided in insuring one of the most successful years in our history. Ken and his
hard‐working chair persons and fellow Board Members produced an excellent Annual Seminar, a wonderfully
orchestrated Law Enforcement/Private Security Appreciation Luncheon, a fabulous annual
field trip to Disney and a behind the scenes tour of their security initiatives, and our best‐ever CPP
Study Course. Of course, the Chapter continued to provide excellent educational and informative programs
for the benefit of all who attended our monthly luncheons.
We are prepared to do even more in 2012. It begins with our Annual Seminar under the exceptional
direction of Patty Schmitt and her team. Patty has assembled an unbelievable cast of presenters and
we are all confident that there is no greater training opportunity or value for the investment, than will
be available during these two and one half days in mid‐February. Please refer to the flyer contained in
this publication for more specific information. Whatever you do, you definitely don’t want to miss out
on this one! It’s first come, first serve. Seating is limited, so please don’t hesitate.
I look forward to seeing you all at our January luncheon and hope to have more exciting news to share
with you at that time. Until then...
Al Perotti, Jr. CPP
A Little About Florida West Coast Chapter 30
On January 28th 1974 the Florida West Coast Chapter of ASIS assumed the obligation of and was chartered as a chapter of the American Society of Industrial Security.
The Florida Chapter has a proud 37-year history. We are a three time Chapter of the Year award winner (I.B. Hale Award). And as with any great organization, our true strength is our membership. With close to 300 members and growing this chapter includes top professionals from every security related field in the Tampa Bay Area.
Each year our Chapter awards a scholarship to a local student of merit who shows an interest in the security profession. The scholarship is awarded annually to the best application submitted to the chapter.
ASIS is the largest international educational organization for security professionals, with over 36,000 members worldwide.
ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that focus on both the fundamentals and the most recent advancements in security management.
