February 15, 2007 Luncheon
We had 32 members in attendance at the luncheon.
Bob Glazman, CPP (VP of Fox Protective Services) led a discussion on the goal and impact of the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP) coming out of Homeland Security. The plan looks at protecting critical infrastructure that is essential to the nation's security, public health, safety, economic vitality, and way of life. This is directed at not only terrorist attacks but also natural, man-made, or technological hazards that could produce catastrophic losses in terms of human casualties, property destruction, and economic effects, as well as profound damage to public morale and confidence.
During the discussion several members shared that they have already been contacted by Homeland Security about complying with the plan. There was also discussion about a Federal ID program.
